My name is Tracy Lawrence, and I was the CEO and co-founder of Chewse. I was bullied as a child and experienced the pain of eating lunch in the bathroom — consequently, I built my company to ensure that no one ate lunch alone. I started the company in my college dorm room at 20 and was named Forbes 30 Under 30. I raised $40M in venture capital, grew the company to 300 employees across the US, and then I sold the company at age 30. I made a lot of mistakes along the way because I didn’t trust myself. I felt like an outsider in an “out for blood” business world, and I couldn’t find role models to guide me. That’s why I speak and write so candidly, so others don’t have to feel alone like I did at the early stages.
